I’ve been practising my granny squares and doing ok at them so now I have a new skill. I’ve started a top that is knitted in the main body but the yoke is crochet so this is going to be a challenge. I will show you some photos soon.
Unfortunately, I almost sliced the top of my thumb off with an extremely sharp knife at the weekend (children, good reason not to play with knives!) Well, it’s ok but it makes knitting very difficult so my makes are a bit slow at the moment. I did manage to finish a Snoopy for a friend which I will show you next post. He’s not quite right – I think I should have made his head a bit bigger but he’s not bad considering I made him up.
Back soon with photos…
Oh, I also made this recently. It's very sweet. Not a photo of mine -this is the actual pattern photo.
Time goes so fast. I read blogs most days and comment or like them here and there but finding time to write my own…?
Have a couple of drafts in progress so will make sure I do one this weekend. Travelling to see family but should have some time to ‘potter about’ on my laptop.
Here in the UK, we’ve been having amazingly good weather but it seems we might have done an exchange with some other European countries (sorry, Germany, Czech Republic and others). Here’s hoping we can all get some great summer weather.
I am still re-knitting my white cardigan but only have one front still to do. My next post will tell you what else I’ve been up to…
See you soon.
I have a friend (a work colleague) who, before she leaves each day, will walk around the office asking everyone individually if there is anything she can do for them before she goes. We have tried (believe me) all the unreasonable requests we can think of, including but not limited to, making dinner, washing dishes, cleaning etc but apparently only work related ones are acceptable and even then only if they are able to be done fairly quickly, I think. However, it’s the thought that counts right?
Actually, we think she worries too much but I think it’s actually more than that. I saw a photo on Vouchercodes facebook page that said,
“I am recovering people pleaser
(Is that ok?)”
I think it fits her well (obviously, everyone is much more complicated than that but it’s one character trait anyway).
Having said all that, this lady is the loveliest person who, although she can be overly anxious at times, can always make people feel better. She has a way of making everyone feel like they matter and that can’t be a bad thing.
So not perfect, but I wouldn’t want to be without her in the office; she makes it a nicer place to be. Thank you, my lovely imperfect friend.

I was really looking forward to blogging and started with some ideas but, you know what? It’s not that easy to keep it going regularly. Maybe, if you don’t work, or your work is linked to your blog…? Maybe if I has less knitting to do, I’d have more time for writing about it but what is life without knitting? I’m also feeling a bit ‘under the weather’ at the moment so even if I have time to blog, I don’t always feel like doing it.
I know you’ve all been through this and struggled to get going at times, so I’m not alone.
Where do these cliches come from?
Under the weather?
Which weather? Sun, rain, cloud, snow..?
Under the rain, wet and miserable – yes, we all know that one! Under a cloud, has other connotations attached already but I can see it as being a bit cold and not too bright. Under sun would seem to be enjoyable however, unless (I suppose) it was the unbearably hot, beating down on you, with no shade, kind of sun… Hmmm.
Well, whichever weather it is, you are now reading the ramblings of a character with a currently ‘not so sunny’ disposition.
Sorrrrrry, I shall come back out from under the clouds very soon. See you then, if you decide to hang around and not jet off to sunnier climes!
